Catching Up With Our Competing Sports
Men's Basketball
The men opened their 2022-23 home schedule with a close game against Oberlin that the Geyos ended up winning 73-67. Josh Decker led the team with 21 points and five rebounds while coming off the bench. DJ Courtney was the other Hornet to score double figures, finishing with 11. Kalamazoo has an 11-day layoff until a road game against Chicago on Nov. 30, beginning at 8 p.m.
Women's Basketball
The women also had their first home game of the 2022-23 season, falling to Anderson 109-66. Kaelyn Arlington finished with her seventh career double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Off the bench, newcomer Macy Ivins scored a season-high 14, and Jaelyn Horn also contributed 11 points. The Hornets will play two games this week, beginning with a home matchup against Manchester on Saturday (Nov. 26) and then going on the road to face Eureka on Sunday (Nov. 27).
Men's Swimming & Diving
The men last participated in the Kalamazoo Tri-Meet with Calvin and Olivet at the Natatorium on Nov. 11. The Hornets defeated the Comets 185-48 before falling to the Knights 174-68. Kalamazoo next competes in the three-day Calvin Invitational on Dec. 1-3.
Women's Swimming & Diving
The women also split with Calvin and Olivet at the Kalamazoo Tri-Meet, defeating the Comets 176-54 and dropping to the Knights 149-88. The Hornets compete next in the three-day Calvin Invitational on Dec. 1-3.
