Joey Aliotta playing baseball.

ANGOLA, IN - The Kalamazoo College baseball team lost both games of a doubleheader with Trine University today. The team is now 20-18 overall, and 15-11 in conference play.

In game one Kalamazoo struck first with an RBI from Carter Chandler in the top of the first inning. Trine answered with two runs in the bottom of the fifth but then the Hornets tied it in the top of the sixth with an RBI from Scott Devine. The Thunder scored the game's final run in the bottom of the sixth.

Ryan Orr
was on the mound for Kalamazoo and was handed just his second loss of the year. The freshman threw all six innings and only gave up two earned runs but the run support wasn't quite what it needed to be.

In game two Kalamazoo again had the early lead with a run in the first and second inning courtesy of Joey Aliotta and Ian Kobernick. Kalamazoo gave those two runs back in the bottom of the third. Then the teams both went scoreless for two innings before the Thunder hung up three runs in the bottom of the sixth to seal the 5-2 victory.

Aaron Schwark
took the loss for the Hornets after throwing six innings and giving up five earned runs. Ian Kobernick had hits in both of today's games, extending his hitting streak to 17 games.

Kalamazoo plays its last two games of the regular season tomorrow afternoon against Trine.
