AUBURNDALE, Fla. - The Kalamazoo College baseball team lost 7-3 to Benedictine (Ill.) University on Sunday. The Hornets are now 2-1-1 on their spring trip (3-3-1 overall) while the Eagles improved to 4-1.

Kalamazoo took advantage of a Ryan Orr single, three walks and a wild pitch to score a run in the top of the first inning.

Benedictine responded with three runs in the second, one in the third and two in the sixth to build a 6-1 lead.

Andre Gard tripled to lead off the seventh and scored on a ground out by Jordan Wiley to make it 6-2.

Kalamazoo returns to action Tuesday against Allegheny College at former Major League Baseball spring training site Chain of Lakes Park in Winter Haven.
