AUBURNDALE, Fla. - The Kalamazoo College baseball team won its final game in Florida 8-2 over SUNY New Paltz on Wednesday.
Kalamazoo led 3-1 after four innings and added a pair of runs in the sixth and three more in the seventh. Each team had 10 hits in the game.
Brett Garwood was 2-for-4 with a pair of RBIs while Ian Kobernick also had two hits. Andre Gard doubled while Mitchell VanKoevering had a triple.
Connor Young earned the win on the mound allowing just one run in seven innings.
SUNY New Paltz (8-5-2) had won its last five games while winning two of three from the defending NCAA III national champions.
Kalamazoo is scheduled to open MIAA play at home against Albion on Friday, March 25 at 2 p.m.
