KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association announced Monday afternoon that Jack Brockhaus of the Kalamazoo College baseball team has been named Pitcher of the Week.
The junior from Birmingham, Mich. (Brother Rice) threw six shutout innings against No. 17 Adrian on March 20. He allowed no runs over five Bulldog hits, striking out six and allowing one walk. The Hornets had nine hits in the 4-1 victory over Adrian.
Brockhaus has posted a 2-0 record in three starts, allowing just a single run and 13 hits over 18 innings pitched. He leads the MIAA in strikeouts (24) and ERA (0.50).
Kalamazoo heads into its game against Albion with a 6-0 record as the only remaining undefeated team in the MIAA. The Hornets host the Britons on Tuesday (March 23) at 4 p.m.
