ADRIAN, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College football team lost 31-13 at Adrian College Saturday night.
After a scoreless first quarter, Viet Nguyen kicked a pair of field goals (26, 39) early in the second quarter to give Kalamazoo a 6-0 lead.
Adrian took the lead with a pair of touchdowns in the final six minutes of the second quarter. The Hornet defense kept it a 14-6 score by stopping the Bulldogs on the 1-yardline as time expired at halftime.
Adrian scored on its first possession of the second half before adding two more touchdowns in the third quarter to take a 31-6 lead.
Kalamazoo scored early in the fourth quarter on a 15-yard touchdown pass from Alex White to A.J. Convertino to make it 31-13, the eventual final score.
Alex White finished 18-of-39 passing for 178 yards with one touchdown and one interception.
Seth Dexter led the receivers with 57 yards on three catches. Dylan Padget had 40 yards on three catches. Jared Pittman added 33 yards on four catches.
Sean Bauer was credited with 20 total tackles to lead the Hornet defense. Quentin Sweeney was in on 15 tackles.
Josh Vance intercepted a pair of passes.
Kalamazoo returns to action next week at Hope.
