KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Kalamazoo College football team took a break from Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association action Saturday afternoon but the Hornets were unable to come away with a victory as Wisconsin Lutheran defeated Kalamazoo, 29-7.

The Warriors struck first with 20 seconds remaining in the first quarter when Austin DeNoyer broke into the endzone with a two-yard run.

Wisconsin Lutheran scored the game's first 15 points but Kalamazoo got itself back in the ball game when Clay Wilkey capped off a 65 yard drive midway through the second quarter with a one-yard run.

That's as close at the Horents would get, though. The Warriors tacked on a score with 1:51 remaining in the first half and added the final seven points of the game with 8:07 remaining in the third quarter.

Despite giving up 29 points, the Kalamazoo defense came up with multiple takeaways hoping to give the Hornet offense a boost. Josh Vance recorded an interception while Jake Sypniewski forced a fumble recorded by Sean Bauer.

Offensively, Collin Feilla was Alex White's most trusted target as Feilla ended his day with nine receptions for 86 yards. Lorenzo Redmond led the Hornets with 53 yards on the ground.

Kalamazoo wraps up the 2016 season next Saturday with a home game against Albion.
