Men's basketball loses at Olivet

Mike Oravetz playing basketball

Olivet, MI – The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team fell on the road 67-65 to Olivet on Wednesday night. The Hornets are now 7-13 overall and 2-7 in MIAA play.

As they have been for most of the season, the team's two Adams, Peters and Dykema, were the story for the Hornets offensively. They combined for 16 points in the first half and Kalamazoo trailed the Comets 34-31 at halftime.

In the second half Peters and Dykema were even more dominant combining for 21 points. Kalamazoo led the game 65-62 with 1:36 remaining but then allowed the Comets to go on a 5-0 run in the game's waning seconds. Kalamazoo outscored Olivet in the second half 34-33 but still fell just short.

Josh Miller led the team in rebounds with seven, and was also the third leading scorer with nine. Despite coming off the bench, Mike Oravetz played thirty minutes and contributed six points, five rebounds, and a block. Cam Schwartz had five points, five assists, and a steal in just 22 minutes off the bench.

The men suit up again Saturday, Feb. 7 at Trine.
