Men's Basketball defeated by Case Western

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team lost 118-100 to Case Western Reserve University on Tuesday.

Kalamazoo fell behind early and trailed 58-37 at halftime. The Hornets outscored the Spartans 63-60 in the second half.

Case Western shot 50.6 percent overall while making 18-of-38 3-pointers (47.4 percent). Kalamazoo shot 41.8 percent overall while hitting 7-of-18 3's. 

The two teams combined for 73 free throw attempts in the contest. Kalamazoo made 27-of-44 while Case Western made 16-of-29.

Kalamazoo outrebounded Case Western 53-42, including 26-19 on the offensive end.

Chase Baysdell led Kalamazoo with 21 points, 11 rebounds and three assists. Demarco Dickerson also scored 21 points with nine rebounds and six steals. Adam Dykema also finished with 21 points.

Mike Oravetz added 14 points while Josh Whitney finished with seven points and 10 rebounds.

Kalamazoo returns to action Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the consolation game Case Western's Bill Sudek Holiday Tournament. The Hornets face Wheaton College (Ill.) after the Thunder were defeated 60-56 by Otterbein University on Tuesday.
