Paprocki's big night not enough at Benedictine

LISLE, Ill.- The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team was defeated 73-64 by Benedictine (Ill.) on the road on Monday night.

The Hornets shoot well in the contest, connecting on 47.3 percent of their shots from the floor and holding a seven point lead halfway through the first period. Despite holding Benedictine to 36.5 percent shooting, K was unable to overcome a dramatic disparity at the free throw line. Kalamazoo was 7-21 from the free throw line while Benedictine shot 29-34, good for 85.3 percent from the stripe. Behind this strong shooting, the Eagles erased the K lead and finally built a double digit lead of their own in the second half.

Benedictine was led by Jens Soderholm who scored a game-high 28 points, including 14-16 from the free throw line.

Jimmy Paprocki was outstanding for the Hornets with 19 points on 7-8 shooting from the floor and nine rebounds, both team highs. Ben Reiter also scored in double figures for K with 11 points. 

Kalamazoo will return to action at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 20th on the road against Lawerence Tech.
