Men's Basketball wins at Lawrence Tech

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team won 63-53 at Lawrence Tech University on Wednesday. 

The host Blue Devils led by as many as six points in the first half before taking a 26-25 lead into halftime.

Kalamazoo trailed by six again in the second half (47-41) with 10:10 remaining, but the Hornets outscored Lawrence Tech 22-6 the rest of the way while holding the Blue Devils to only six free throws in the final 10 minutes of play.

Kalamazoo shot 51 percent from the field while Lawrence Tech finished at 33.3 percent. The Hornets outrebounded the Blue Devils 36-25, including 7-6 on the offensive end.

Jeremiah Vincent led four Hornets in double figures with 12 points. on 5-of-9 shooting.

Tanner Blyly scored 10 points with nine rebounds, Roger Hood scored 10 points with eight rebounds, and Jimmy Paprocki scored 10 points with three rebounds.

Kalamazoo improved to 5-6 with the win at the end of the non-conference season. The Hornets are now off until the start of MIAA play at home against Alma on Wednesday, Jan. 3 at 7:30 p.m.
