Men's Basketball Falls to John Carroll

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team lost 87-76 to John Carroll University at home Saturday afternoon. 

There were four lead changes in the first half and it was a four-point game (27-23) in favor of John Carroll with 6:07 remaining. The visiting Blue Streaks increased their lead to 46-35 at halftime.

Kalamazoo battled back early in the second half taking a 53-52 lead with 14:05 left to play. John Carroll quickly regained the lead and held on the rest of the way.

John Carroll shot 49.2 percent overall compared to 44.6 percent for Kalamazoo. John Carroll also held a 36-30 advantage in rebounds, including 12-9 on the offensive end.

Jeremiah Vincent led Kalamazoo with 21 points including 4-of-5 3-pointers. Tanner Blyly finished with 20 points after scoring 16 in the first half.

Jarnard Smith scored 11 points with five assists in 25 minutes off the bench.

Vincent, Blyly, Tre Humes, and Thomas Cook each had four rebounds.

Kalamazoo is back in action at home Sunday, Dec. 1 with a 3 p.m. game against North Central.
