RICHMOND, Ind. - The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team dropped its Tuesday afternoon contest at Earlham College by a final score of 91-77.

The Quakers were the first to score this afternoon as they used their early shot-making to lead from wire-to-wire in the first 20 minutes with Kalamazoo cutting the deficit to just five with under one minute remaining in the first half.

Some sharp shooting for the Hornets early in the second half made for a tie game less than four minutes in. A pair of Ben Reiter free throws gave Kalamazoo its first lead of the game at the 13-minute mark.

Following a run by the Hornets that gave them an eight-point advantage, Earlham regained the lead with just over seven minutes remaining and held on to win.

Both teams shot 50 percent or better on the game as Kalamazoo connected on 27 of 54 shot attempts. The Hornets assisted on 21 of 27 made field goals.

Kalamazoo out-rebounded Earlham 36-17, but committed 21 turnovers to the Quakers' 12.

Tanner Blyly led Kalamazoo with 22 points, nine assists, and six rebounds.

Ben Reiter added 19 points while Tre Humes and Thomas Cook each had 10.

Kalamazoo returns to play on Saturday, Dec. 21 at home against Concordia (MI). The game is scheduled to tip-off at 1 p.m.
