Men's Basketball Falls at Adrian

ADRIAN, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team lost 80-65 in conference play at Adrian on Saturday.

Kalamazoo led after five minutes of play, but Adrian came back and pulled ahead before taking a 40-24 lead into halftime.

Kalamazoo cut the deficit to 11 (68-57) with 6:01 left in regulation but was unable to get any closer despite outscoring Adrian 41-40 in the second half.

The host Bulldogs shot 48.4 percent overall while sinking 10-of-26 3-pointers and 8-of-12 free throws. Kalamazoo shot 37.7 percent with 6-of-25 3's and 19-of-26 free throws.

Adrian held a 39-32 advantage in rebounds.

Jeremiah Vincent and Jarnard Smith each scored 12 points to lead the Hornets. Vincent also had three assists while Smith sank 10-of-10 free throws.

Tanner Blyly and Merritt Hamann each scored 10 points. Blyly also had seven rebounds while Hamann had six with three assists.

Drew Scheckell, Tre Humes, and Jack Smith each scored six points.

Kalamazoo returns to action at home against Olivet on Wednesday, Jan. 15 at 7:30 p.m.
