Men's Basketball Defeated at Albion

ALBION, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team lost 109-94 at Albion College in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play on Saturday.

Albion led the first 14 minutes of the game before Kalamazoo took its first lead (28-27) with 5:59 remaining. The teams exchanged leads with Kalamazoo pulling ahead 45-44 at halftime.

Albion regained the lead early in the second half and began pulling away. The Hornets made it a 10-point game with under a minute to play, but were unable to get any closer.

Albion shot 55.7 percent overall while hitting 16-of-28 3-pointers. Kalamazoo shot 57.6 percent overall while making 13-of-30 3's. The Britons held a 35-30 advantage in rebounds, including 14-7 on the offensive end.

Jarnard Smith led Kalamazoo with 19 points on 7-of-9 shooting with four free throws and three assists.

Thomas Cook scored 14 points with seven rebounds while Tanner Blyly scored 14 points with four rebounds and three assists.

Ben Reiter scored 13 points with five rebounds with five assists. Jack Smith scored 13 points with four rebounds and five assists.

Kalamazoo is back home Wednesday, Jan. 22 with a 7:30 p.m. tip against Hope.
