KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team dropped its MIAA contest on Wednesday evening as the visiting Albion Britons defeated the Hornets 96-70.

After beginning the game down 8-0, Kalamazoo responded with a run of its own and saw itself winning by as many as four during the first 10 minutes of the game. Albion's strong defensive effort in the final 10 minutes of the first half had the Britons up by 15 going into the break.

The Hornets were contained by Albion throughout the second half as the Britons led for the entirety of the second half.

The game did not go without records being broken for the Hornets, however. Senior forward Ben Reiter's 20 points pushed him above 1,000 for his Kalamazoo College career as he joined fellow senior Tanner Blyly who reached the milestone just one week ago.

Blyly also reached another milestone of his own this evening as he was able to break the school record for assists in a single season. His 96 assists this year pushed him beyond Kyle Konwinski who set the previous record in 2004-05.

To go along with his five assists tonight, Blyly added a team-high 21 points and six rebounds.

Tre Humes and Jarnard Smith each added nine points for the Hornets.

Kalamazoo shot 42.3 percent from the floor throughout the game and made 50 percent of its shots in the second half. The Hornets made 13 of their 36 three-point tries.

Next up for Kalamazoo is a trip to Hope College on Saturday, Feb. 15. The game is scheduled to tip-off at 3 p.m.
