KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Tanner Blyly of the Kalamazoo College men's basketball team was honored by the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Tuesday afternoon as this week's Hornet of the Week.
Tanner wrapped up his Kalamazoo College career in grand fashion as he posted 36 points, 19 rebounds, and 10 assists in the team's two games this week. His 21 points and 13 rebounds in the season finale at Alma gave him his second double-double of the season.
Blyly finished the season leading the team in all three major statistical categories as he averaged 17.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game. He also shot 53.9 percent from the field and 40.7 percent from beyond the three-point arc. He has led Kalamazoo in assists in each of the last three seasons and has been in the top three in scoring, as well.
For his efforts during his outstanding senior season, Blyly was named to the All-MIAA Second Team. He joins teammate Ben Reiter as the last two Hornets to be named All-MIAA members.
