Kalamazoo College's Lukas Broadsword was recognized as the MIAA Men's Basketball Player of the Week on Monday.
A freshman from Boise, Idaho (Centennial HS), Broadsword averaged 13 points and 10 rebounds while shooting 67 percent from the field in two games last week. He scored 11 points with 12 rebounds and four assists while making 5-of-7 shots against Bluffton on Wednesday. On Thursday against Oberlin, he scored 15 points with eight rebounds, four assists and two steals while making 7-of-11 shots.
On the season, Broadsword is averaging 12.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per game.
Kalamazoo (3-3) returns to action Wednesday, Dec. 8 at Concordia University in Ann Arbor.
