Lukas Broadsword was named SAAC (Student-Athlete Advisory Committee) Men's Hornet of the Week on Tuesday.
Broadsword's Hornet of the Week honor comes a day after earning MIAA Men's Basketball Player of the Week honors.
A freshman from Boise, Idaho (Centennial HS), Broadsword averaged 13 points and 10 rebounds while shooting 67 percent from the field in two games last week. He scored 11 points with 12 rebounds and four assists while making 5-of-7 shots against Bluffton on Wednesday. On Thursday against Oberlin, he scored 15 points with eight rebounds, four assists and two steals while making 7-of-11 shots.
On the season, Broadsword is averaging 12.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per game.
Kalamazoo (3-3) returns to action Wednesday, Dec. 8 at Concordia University in Ann Arbor.
