Men's Golf Shoots 309 at Opening Round of Fall Final

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's golf team posted the fourth-best score on Friday, a 309 at the first round of the two-day MIAA Fall Final at Forest Akers Golf Course.

Kalamazoo trailed Calvin by seven strokes on Friday, but the Hornets still have a four-stroke lead over the Knights for third place overall this season. The top four teams earn a spot in the MIAA Spring Qualifier with the winner advancing to the NCAA III Championships.

Jackson Jones led Kalamazoo with 74 to tie for seventh overall on Friday.

Parker Pickell shot 77 while Mathew Holmes-Hackerd and Will Mierz both came in at 79.

Saturday's final round is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. at Forest Akers.
