Men's Soccer loses season opener 3-0 at Wheaton

The Kalamazoo College men's soccer team lost its season opener 3-0 at Wheaton (Ill.) College on Friday.

Wheaton scored a pair of goals in the first 37 minutes to take a 2-0 lead into halftime. The Thunder added a third goal in the 72nd minute while holding the Hornets scoreless.

Wheaton held a 23-10 advantage in shots, including 8-1 on goal.

Dane Macdonell made five saves in goal for the Hornets.

Kalamazoo is scheduled to face Carthage College next at 3 p.m. on Saturday at Wheaton.
