OLIVET - The Kalamazoo College men's soccer team lost 3-0 at Olivet in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play on Wednesday.
Olivet scored its first goal in the 17th minute and took the 1-0 lead into halftime.
The Comets made it 2-0 in the 58th minute before scoring a third goal in the 67th minute.
Olivet outshot Kalamazoo 15-10 overall, including 5-2 on goal.
Jory Finkelberg had Kalamazoo's best opportunity to score and even the score with a header that went just wide of goal in the 54th minute.
Despite the outcome of today's contest, Coach Shabazz remains confident in the team.
"We are prepared for the marathon that this season represents and I fully believe in this team," Shabazz said. "We are coming to terms with the game at this level and I am confident that once we make the necessary adjustments this team will live up to its potential."
Kalamazoo returns home to face Albion College in conference play on Saturday, Sept. 28 at 2:30 p.m.
