Men's soccer falls 2-0 at Albion

ALBION, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's soccer team dropped a game in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) standings falling to Albion 2-0 on Wednesday, Oct. 23. 

Albion's Bobby Budlong scored what proved to be the game-winner in the 22nd minute. The Britons would add another in the 84th minute to seal the game.

Albion played an excellent game holding Kalamazoo to a single shot in the 90-minute contest. The lone shot came from junior midfielder Jory Finkelberg.

Albion fired off 13 shots with seven of them hitting target. Junior goalkeeper Beau Prey made five saves in the first half.

The Hornet defense played a much better second half, holding Albion to a singe shot on net. Freshman Kellon Johnston Roper played the second half in goal for K. 

"We did not play well enough to win," Kalamazoo Head Coach Lumumba Shabazz said. "This journey is one of peaks and valleys. We hit a valley today. That being said, I am confident in this team and these players."

Kalamazoo returns to action Saturday, Oct. 26 when its travels to Scotland Yard for a 2:30 p.m. game with Alma.
