Hornets fall to Knights

Tony Pisto playing soccer.

The Kalamazoo College men's soccer team lost 3-0 to Calvin on Wednesday night. The team moves to 7-5-2 overall and 5-3-1 in conference play. The Knights remain in control of the MIAA as they're still undefeated.

It was raining throughout the majority of the game and it led to slightly sloppy ball handling on both sides. Other than the score, the game wasn't one-sided offensively with Calvin attempting 14 shots and Kalamazoo attempting 10.

Roger Mason Darling looked good for the Hornets; he led the team with three shots on goal. Kyle Hernandez had a good looking shot late in the game that sailed just north of the crossbar. Beau Prey had another three saves but couldn't keep the MIAA leading Knights off the board. Calvin has now scored 33 goals this year and given up only two.

The Hornets will look to bounce back Saturday, Oct. 18 on the road against conference opponent Albion. Kalamazoo still holds on to third place in the MIAA.
