KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's soccer team was defeated by Carthage 3-1 on Wednesday night.
In an aggressive match that featured 30 fouls between the teams, Carthage took an early lead in the first half with a goal by Jerry Patino.
Patino followed up his early goal with a second one in the 65th minute to extend the lead to 2-0. Ivan Esquivel connected on the third and final goal for the Red Men 17 minutes later.
Sophomore Aidan Hurley scored Kalamazoo's lone goal on a free kick just outside the box in the 87th minute.
The Hornets return to MacKenzie Field on Saturday, September 15 when they host Michigan-Dearborn. The match is set to begin at 5 p.m.
