Men's Soccer Uses Last Minute Goal to Beat Olivet

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's soccer team defeated Olivet Tuesday night by a score of 1-0. 

In a match that featured 37 total shots between the teams and 17 of them being on goal, it was a last minute goal for the Hornets that made the difference. 

After 89 minutes of scoreless soccer, Ben Meschke intercepted an Olivet throw in and found the back of the net for the Hornets to break the scoreless tie. 

Freshman goalie Luke Kastran earned the shutout while making seven saves for Kalamazoo. 

The Hornets will travel to Hope College on Saturday, Oct. 27 to compete in the first round of MIAA Tournament play. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
