The Kalamazoo College men's soccer team defeated Wheaton 1-0 in an NCAA III Tournament match on Nov. 9, 2001. Ross Bower scored the game's only goal in the 84th minute. Nick Carlin-Voigt earned the shutout with seven saves in goal.
Kalamazoo improved to 18-2 overall with the win, tying the school record for wins set in 1988.
The 2001 team also set a school record with 13 shutouts, allowed just 13 goals all season, and won 13 consecutive games during the season.
