OLIVET, Mich. – The Kalamazoo College men's soccer team defeated Olivet College, 3-0, in a game played at Olivet High School Saturday afternoon.
The Hornets (10-3-2, 5-1 MIAA) were led offensively by Emilio Romo, whose pair of goals - including an unassisted tally to open the scoring in the 12th minute - gives him a team-high ten for the season. Romo has been on quite a scoring tear recently, totaling nine goals in his last eight games and five in the past three.
Paul Kearis assisted on Romo's second goal in the 69th minute, and Michele Alia's score in the 86th minute, assisted by Brandon Sysol, closed the scoring.
Kalamazoo dominated the afternoon's action, outshooting the Comets 28-4 and claiming a 10-2 advantage on corner kicks. Luke Kastran stopped three shots in claiming his fourth shutout of the season.
The Hornets return home for the final regular-season game on Wednesday. The game against Hope will start at 7 p.m.
