KALAMAZOO - The Kalamazoo College men's swimming and diving team defeated Hope 172-107 in the Kalamazoo College Natatorium on Saturday.

Kalamazoo took first place in 14 of the 16 events on Saturday. The Hornets took two of the top three places in nine of the 16 events.

"I am very proud of both teams today," said Kalamazoo Head Coach Kathy Milliken. "The men learned and adjusted from a disappointing meet last weekend to come back and race much better today. Almost all of the guys swam faster this weekend and many had in-season personal bests."

Dylan Shearer won three individual events along with one relay. Elliot Littman won both diving events.

Individual event winners for Kalamazoo were Alex Lindsay (1000 Freestyle - 10:23.69), Kevin Ewing (100 Backstroke - :55.06; 200 Backstroke - 2:01.18), Jacob Lindquist (100 Breaststroke - 1:00.36; 200 Breaststroke - 2:15.78), Tyler Fisher (200 Butterfly - 2:00.46; 100 Butterfly - :53.92), Dylan Shearer (50 Freestyle - :21.66; 100 Freestyle - :48.76; 200 IM - 2:02.98), Elliot Littman (1M - 271.30; 3M - 268.10), and Michael Allen (500 Freestyle - 4:56.38).

Kalamazoo's 200 Medley Relay won the opening event with a time of 1:37.86 (Wasko, Lindquist, Fisher, Shearer).

The Hornets return to action next at the Calvin Invitational in Grand Rapids Dec. 5-7.
