KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee announced Tuesday morning that each of the four members of the 200 Freestyle Relay team would be honored as Hornets of the Week.
The team, consisting of Brenden French, Michael Orwin, Luke Durden, and Grant Stille, posted a time of 1:22.64 at the Calvin Invitational. The time ranks ninth in NCAA DIII this season.
This marks the first time a Kalamazoo team has posted a 1:22 time in this event since the 2013 season. It is also just two-tenths of a second off of a national cut.
Kalamazoo finished in fifth place at the Calvin Invitational.
The swimming and diving teams will return to action following the New Year when they head to the Michigan Illinois Quad on Jan. 11.
