Favorite Swimming Memory
This is tough to answer, almost all of my best memories from K involved the time I spent with my teammates and coaches. Most of them don't even involve swimming. From a purely swimming perspective, I think there are two that stand out. The first would be my sophomore year at ND when we barely lost MIAAs to Hope but seemed to have dominated the meet from beginning to end. Everyone on the team did some of the best swimming of their lives there and it was one of the most exciting meets I can remember. The second would be my junior year when we placed 4th at nationals and I had the opportunity to swim with and against some of the best in the country. A small group of us (just 8 I think) were competing against full rosters of teams and still managed to be near the top.

Competing at K
During my time at K, I think the opportunity was able to keep me balanced and focused in a way that only taking classes wouldn't. The obvious answers apply here about time management and dedication, which I still carry forward to my work and life today. However, the most important thing I took away from my time swimming at K is the people. I still call quite a few of my teammates my closest friends 10 years later and I know I can still count on them to this day.

Other Meaningful Experiences
Study abroad and my internship. Study abroad is the obvious answer with the opportunity to experience the world outside of the bubble of K and Michigan. I was lucky enough to have an internship with a K Alum (Jeff Marinucci '00), which provided a unique opportunity to work at a start-up. Especially now, these types of experiences I think are crucial for rounding out students' perspectives outside of the classroom.
