Kalamazoo College's JJ Horsfield was named MIAA Swimmer of the Week on Monday.
A freshman from McLean, Va. (Gonzaga College HS), Horsfield helped the Hornets in a split with Alma and Saginaw Valley State University at home on Saturday. Kalamazoo defeated Alma 229-37 and was defeated 217-78 by SVSU.
Horsfield finished in third place in the 100 and 200 Breaststroke vs. SVSU and first in both events vs. Alma in the double-dual meet. He went 1:02.87 in the 100 Breast and 2:22.20 in the 200 Breast. He also split 28.10 in the breaststroke leg of our A medley relay.
The Hornets are scheduled to compete at the MIAA Relays this Friday at Calvin before hosting Illinois Tech in a dual meet on Saturday at 1 p.m.
