Men's Swimming & Diving Fifth at Carthage Classic

KENOSHA, Wis. - The Kalamazoo College men's swimming and diving team finished fifth out of 10 teams at the Carthage Classic Dec. 2-4.

Saturday's Results

Ben Pickrel finished second in the 200 Butterfly with a time of 1:56.25.

Luke Middlebrook finished third in the 1-meter Diving event with a score of 343.58. He was fourth on the 3-meter with a score of 270.45.

Fifth-place finishers included:
-200 Medley Relay (Andre Fouque, JJ Horsfield, Oliver Tye, Tim Karubas) - 1:36.82
-Ethan Charles (3-meter Diving) - 231.85
-Ben Pickrel (400 IM) - 4:19.04
-JJ Horsfield (100 Breaststroke) - :59.28
-Jose Torres-Rios (1-meter Diving) - 230.55

Friday's Results

JJ Horsfield posted the top finish for the Hornets on Friday finishing third in the 200 Breaststroke (2:12.72).

The 400 Medley Relay (Andre Fouque, JJ Horsfield, Oliver Tye, Tim Karubas) finished fourth with a time of 3:34.20.

Fifth-place finishes were turned in by Ben Pickrel in the 200 Backstroke (1:56.17) and the 200 Free Relay (Oliver Tye, Daniel Koselka, Andre Fouque, Tim Karubas) in 1:28.29.

The Hornets are in fifth place out of 10 teams following Friday night's competition.

Thursday's Results

The 800 Free Relay (Ben Pickrel, Justin Beckrow, Daniel Koselka, Jackson Rysavy) had the best finish of the night coming in sixth with a time of 7:21.43.

In Thursday's other event, Jackson Rysavy finished 19th in the 1650 Freestyle with a time of 17:54.17

The Hornets are in fourth place out of 10 teams after the opening night.
