Men's Swimming & Diving Competes in Kalamazoo Quad

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's swimming and diving team hosted Chicago, DePauw, and Hope in the Kalamazoo Quad on Saturday (Nov. 4) in the Natatorium. The Flying Dutch won the event, with the Maroons coming in second, the Tigers finishing third, and the Hornets coming in fourth.

Ben Pickrel led the Hornets in the individual events as he won the 200 Back (1:56.70), finished second in the 100 Back (53.87), and fourth in the 200 IM (2:00.95). In the diving well, Jose Torres-Rios won the 3-meter with 208.43 points while finishing third in the 1-meter with 166.88 points. Ethan Charles also dove for the Hornets, coming in fourth in the 1-meter (163.73) and 3-meter (150.23).

Kalamazoo also had eight relays finish in the top eight. The Hornets finished fifth (Daniel Koselka, Ben Pickrel, Andre Fouque, Tim Karubas) at 1:28.89 and eighth (Alden Ehrhardt, Zach Butters, Avery Jones, Zach Heikka) at 1:31.62 in the 200 Free Relay. Kalamazoo also finished third (Ben Pickrel, Erik Danielson, Alden Ehrhardt, Tim Karubas) at 3:39.67 and eighth (Zach Heikka, Avery Jones, Andre Fouque, Daniel Koselka) at 3:45.68 in the 400 Medley Relay. Then, the Hornets came in third (Ben Pickrel, Erik Danielson, Alden Ehrhardt, Tim Karubas) at 1:39.22 and seventh (Zach Heikka, Avery Jones, Andre Fouque, Daniel Koselka) at 1:42.53 in the 200 Medley Relay. Finally, Kalamazoo finished fourth (Daniel Koselka, Ben Pickrel, Zach Butters, Tim Karubas) at 3:17.83 and seventh (Andre Fouque, Avery Jones, Noah Eckenroth, Justin Beckrow) at 3:22.16.
