GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's swimming and diving team split dual meets at Calvin on Saturday. The Hornets defeated Olivet 167-23 but fell 139-80 to Calvin.
Zach Butters took first place in the 1650 Freestyle with a time of 17:24.28. He also won the 500 Freestyle with a time of 4:57.40.
Jose Torres-Rios won the 3-meter Dive with a score of 179.02. He also won the 1-meter event with a score of 173.70.
Kalamazoo won the 200 Free Relay with a time of 1:28.79 (Zach Butters, Daniel Koselka, Avery Jones, Tim Karubas).
Second-place finishers were Daniel Koselka (200 Free, 1:49.86), Tim Karubas (50 Free, :22.36) and Zach Heikka (200 Back, 2:02.09).
Third-place finishers included the 400 Medley Relay (Zach Heikka, Erik Danielson, Alden Ehrhardt, Andre Fouque, 3:39.39), Alden Ehrhardt (200 Fly, 2:04.40) and Andre Fouque (200 Back, 2:07.06).
Kalamazoo returns home to host Alma in a dual meet on Saturday, Feb. 3, at 1 p.m.
