KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's tennis team defeated Coe College 8-1 inside the Markin Center on Saturday. Kalamazoo improved to 3-2 with the win while handing the Kohwaks their second loss of the season (7-2).
The Hornets won two of the three doubles matches before winning all six singles matches.
Ian Yi/Daniel Henry won 8-6 at one doubles while Peter Fitzgerald/Tytus Metzler won 8-4 at three.
Casey Johnson won 6-2, 2-0, ret. at four singles followed by Metzler's 6-4, 6-0 win at three. Yi clinched the match with a 2-6, 6-1, 6-0 win at one.
Henry won 5-7, 7-6(6), 10-6 at two before Jai Banerji (6-2, 6-0) and Gabe Vidinas (6-0, 6-0) won in straight sets at five and six, respectively.
Kalamazoo returns to action next Saturday, March 7 at Denison.
