Adnan Alousi of the Kalamazoo College men's tennis team was selected as the MIAA Men's Tennis Player of the Week on Monday (May 6). This is the fourth time the junior has earned the honor.

Kalamazoo won the MIAA Tournament Championship after sharing the regular season title and being the #1 seed on May 1-3. The Hornets defeated Hope in the semifinals 5-1 and then moved on to beat Calvin 5-3 in the finals and falling to the Knights 5-4 in the regular season.

Alousi partnered with Julian Bilbao to win the #2 doubles match against Hope 8-3 before taking his #2 singles match 6-1, 6-0. Kalamazoo needed a comeback against Calvin after the Hornets trailed 2-1 after the doubles matches. Alousi came back and won another #2 singles match, 6-2, 6-2, after being one of the teams that fell in doubles.

Heading into the NCAA Tournament, Alousi is 13-5 in #2 singles matches in 2024 and 7-11 in doubles matches, with most coming in the #2 spot. He was on the All-MIAA First Team after going 7-0 in conference singles matches and 5-1 in doubles action. For his career, Alousi is 44-15 (17-0 MIAA) in singles matches and 32-31 (18-1 MIAA) in doubles matches. He was on the All-MIAA Second Team his first two seasons before being selected to the first team this year.

The Hornets will now focus on the NCAA DIII Tournament by first taking on Gustavus Adolphus on Friday (May 10), with UW-Whitewater hosting.
