Men's Cross Country Competes at Augustana Interregional Invite

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The Kalamazoo College men's cross country team competed in the Augustana Interregional Invite on Saturday (Oct. 14) at the Saukie Golf Course. The Hornets finished 41st out of 43 teams with 1,228 points.

North Central won the event with 60 points, with UW-Whitewater coming in second (90 points), Wartburg in third (97 points), Wash. U in fourth (210 points), and Calvin in fifth (230 points).

Rob Kloosterman was the first to cross the line for Kalamazoo with a personal-best time of 27:02, beating his old best time by four seconds. Will Thomas was only six seconds behind Kloosterman with a time of 27:08. Miles Buckley was the third Hornet runner with a sub-28 minute 8k, finishing in 27:40 and setting a new career-best by four seconds.

Patrick Dunfee (28:08), Levi Thomas (29:01), Garrick Hohm (29:06), and Noah Eckenroth (29:22) rounded out the scoring for the Hornets. Dunfee set a new personal best by two seconds.

Also running for the Hornets were Keegan Reynolds (29:50), Tobin Schiller (30:14), Caleb Ewald (30:25), Bryce Soisson (30:26), and Gerardo Herrera-Sanchez (30:47). Soisson set a new personal best by 11 seconds.

Kalamazoo will have a week off before competing in the MIAA Championships at Three Fires Golf Club on Saturday (Oct. 28).
