The Kalamazoo College softball team lost a pair of close games on the final day of its Spring Trip in Clermont, Fla. on Wednesday.
St. Benedict defeated Kalamazoo in the opener, 6-2. The Hornets were then defeated 3-0 by St. Catherine.
Kalamazoo outhit St. Benedict, 4-3, but five Hornet errors led to four unearned runs.
Madeline Sinkovich was 2-for-4 with a double. Paige Maguire and Dana Page each singled for Kalamazoo.
Kalamazoo was held to three hits in the second game while St. Catherine had seven. Sinkovich and Maguire each had a single while Abby Anderson doubled.
The Hornets return to action at Kalamazoo Valley Community College on Saturday, March 30 at 1 p.m.
