Softball loses season finale at North Park

ROSEMONT, Ill. - The Kalamazoo College softball team lost the final two games of its season 7-4 and 2-0 to North Park University at The Ballpark in Rosemont on Sunday.

Kalamazoo took a 3-0 lead in the first game and led 4-1 after five innings. The host Vikings used a six-run sixth inning to claim a 7-4 lead and retired the Hornets in the seventh to complete the win.

North Park had 11 hits to Kalamazoo's five. The Hornets also committed three errors compared to two by the Vikings.

Erin DuRoss was 1-for-4 with two RBI. Kennedy Boulton also drove in a run. Megan Malish, Katie George and Rachel Epstein also had singles. Maddy Sinkovich scored twice.

The second game was scoreless through four innings until North Park scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth. Kalamazoo left two runners on in the first inning as well as in the sixth inning.

North Park had five hits while limiting Kalamazoo to three.

Maddy Sinkovich, Paige Maguire and Erin DuRoss each singled for the Hornets.
