Softball Drops Two at Adrian

ADRIAN, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College softball team lost both games of a doubleheader at Adrian on Friday falling 10-1 and 13-5.

Game One

Kalamazoo took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first on Hayleigh Alamo's sacrifice fly.

Adrian scored two in the bottom of the second to take the lead and held that until the fourth when the Bulldogs put up eight runs. Kalamazoo was held scoreless in the top of the fifth which ended the game.

Nina Szalkiewicz had a double while Alamo drove in Kalamazoo's only run.

Game Two

Adrian led 4-1 after two innings before scoring five in the top of the third to make it a 9-1 game. Kalamazoo responded with four runs in the bottom of the third to make it 9-5 until the top of the fifth when the Bulldogs scored four more to make it 13-5. Kalamazoo was held scoreless in the bottom half to end the game.

Anna Majewski led the Hornets with two hits including a double.

Hayleigh Alamo drove in a pair of runs. Nina Szalkiewicz also had a double and an RBI.

Kalamazoo is scheduled to host Olivet at 2 p.m. on Saturday. The Hornets' games at Bluffton scheduled for April 22 were cancelled due to Bluffton's conference make-up games.
