Softball Falls to Olivet

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College softball team lost 7-3 and 6-4 to Olivet on Saturday.

Game One

After allowing one run in the first inning, the Hornets scored one run in the second, third, and fourth innings to take a 3-1 lead.

The Comets tied the game in the fifth and had four more runners cross the plate in the top of the seventh to secure a 7-3 victory.

Both Kalamazoo and Olivet tallied 12 hits in game one. 

Nina Szalkiewicz led the way with three hits and one RBI.

Anna Majewski and Keelin McManus each tallied two hits. Majewski drove in one run.

Game Two

Olivet scored in four of the first five innings to lead 6-0 after five. Kalamazoo rallied with four runs in the top of the sixth highlighted by RBI singles by Anna Majewski and Keelin McManus. Olivet was able to get out of the inning with one runner left on and retired the Hornets in order in the seventh to end the game.

Ashley Schiffer led the Hornets with three hits. Keelin McManus drove in two runs. 

The Hornets are scheduled to be back in action Wednesday, April 24 at Calvin.
