Favorite Softball Memories
Oh man, so many. Our coaches, Tracy Ciucci and Kim Henrion, now Holdwick, ended up coaching a USA international softball team. My friend and teammate Jill (Sakolove) Ortiz and I got to travel and play for them in Prague. It was such an awesome trip and I got to see many places I may have never traveled to, including the Hofbräuhau House in Munich and a hospital in the Czech Republic. In one of the final games, I was playing center field. It was the bottom of the final inning, there were two outs with runners in scoring position and we were leading by a run. A fly ball was hit hard in the right-center field gap. I got a good jump on it, called it, and fully-outstretched, dove like Supergirl to make the game-winning catch. I say this is a favorite memory because it was probably the best catch I've ever had. The emotions you feel in a situation like that are ones you never forget. And being able to share that with my K coaches and teammate made it even sweeter.

Competing at K
I loved sports and still do, plus staying active keeps my mind and body healthy. I wanted to go somewhere I could receive an outstanding education and play sports. I wasn't recruited out of high school, but I just loved playing and being part of a team. I appreciated being able to express my athletic side along with academics. It helped me prepare for the future by showing me that the relationships we make in life matter the most. While I loved playing, my teammates, coaches, and those who I'm still friends with to this day showed me the importance of the people you meet in life. It's more about the experiences, memories, and relationships than the wins and losses.

Campus Involvements
I participated in the Powder Puff games each year, was a manager for women's basketball, worked in the business office, and helped with sports information.

Other Meaningful Experiences
My study abroad experience was probably the most meaningful. It really got me out of my comfort zone. I was fluent by the time I left Ecuador. I have so many vivid memories of my time there and even convinced my parents to travel somewhere they never would have otherwise. Also being able to work with Steve Wideen in sports information really launched my career. It allowed me to stay involved in my love - sports - and gave me the basics to get my first job out of college. I then worked in sports information for two major Division I universities before moving into the corporate world.

Athletic Accomplishments
All-MIAA Second Team (2002)...MIAA Coaches' Honorable Mention (2003)...hit .270 in two seasons with the Hornets while starting all 61 games.
