Softball Walks-Off vs. Benedictine, Falls to UW-Stevens Point

CLERMONT, Fla. - The Kalamazoo College softball split a pair of games on Tuesday, winning on a walk-off home run before falling by one run in game two.

Kalamazoo vs. Benedictine

Lucy Hart hit a walk-off two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh to lift the Hornets to a 9-7 win over Benedictine University. 

Reese Koski and Lizzy Rottenberk each had two hits in the game, including a double. Koski also drove in three runs.

Jordan Cook went the distance in the circle, striking out five while walking none.

Kalamzoo vs. UW-Stevens Point

Kalamazoo dropped the second game of the day, 10-9. The Hornets scored five in the first and four in the second, but gave up 10 runs in the first three innings to trail 10-9. Neither team scored over the final four innings. 

UW-Stevens Point had 12 hits in the game compared to 11 by Kalamazoo.

Lizzy Rottenberk, Lucy Hart and Kelsey Diekman each had two hits. Diekman drove in four runs, and did not allow a run in 3.2 innings of relief on the mound.

Rottenberk and Amy McNutt each homered in the game.
