Sam Moss was named SAAC (Student-Athlete Advisory Committee) Women's Hornet of the Week on Tuesday. She was named MIAA Pitcher of the Week on Monday.
A junior from Peachtree Corners, Ga. (Dunwoody HS), Moss pitched three complete games last week going 2-1 in 21 innings pitched. She struck out 17 batters while allowing just two earned runs. Of the 17 hits allowed, only three were for extra bases. Her only loss on the week was 1-0 where she scattered six hits and struck out seven batters.
On the season, Moss is 3-1 on the mound with a 0.75 ERA, striking out 18 while walking three.
Kalamazoo (5-3) was back in action Monday and Tuesday with games in Florida.
