Softball Wins Senior Day Finale Over Adrian

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College softball team split a pair of games with Adrian on the final day of the season. After falling 12-4 in the opener, Kalamazoo ended Senior Day with a 3-0 win in the finale.

Game One

Adrian led 1-0 after the first, 3-1 after the third and 7-4 after the fourth before a five-run fifth put the Bulldogs up 12-4. Kalamazoo was unable to extend the game as the Hornets were held scoreless in the bottom of the fifth.

Adrian had nine hits in the game compared to just two by Kalamazoo. Each team had three errors resulting in a combined 10 unearned runs. 

Lizzy Rottenberk had two hits including a double, stolen base and an RBI.

Jordan Wesaw and Emma Newlove also drove in a run.

Game Two

Kalamazoo scored one run in the first and two in the seventh while holding Adrian scoreless in the finale.

Lizzy Rottenberk, Bella Caza and Jaycee Rider each had two hits in the game.

Rider and Brynna Garden each drove in a run.

Jordan Cook struck out two and walked one in the three-hit shutout for her ninth win of the season.

The Hornets set numerous records this season, all of which will be updated in the online record book and featured on social media.
