Beth Mitchell joined the Kalamazoo College staff as men’s and women’s assistant swimming and diving coach in September 2021.
Mitchell is a Kalamazoo College alumna and graduated in 2020 with a bachelor's degree in psychology.
She returns to Kalamazoo from Life Time Kansas Swim, where she held the position of head coach for the USA Swimming-affiliated team. Mitchell also served as the assistant swim coach for the Woodneath Farms swim team and head site coach for the YMCA of Greater Kansas City in 2021, and was the head site coach for the Eastern Iowa Swimming Federation from 2020-21.
Mitchell was a member of the Kalamazoo College swimming team until a shoulder surgery refocused her on coaching the sport she has such passion for. She is thrilled to begin her coaching career at her alma mater and feels fortunate to be able to continue relationships with people who have made such a large impact in her life.
In addition to trying new coffee shops, Mitchell enjoys her two cats and rooting on the Minnesota Vikings.
