Women's Basketball falls 73-62 at Adrian

The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team lost 73-62 in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play at Adrian on Saturday.

Kalamazoo trailed by as many as six points midway through the first half before taking a four point lead (22-18) with 4:56 remaining. The host Bulldogs regained the lead with 1:52 left and took a five point lead (31-26) into halftime.

Adrian extended its lead to nine points early in the second half and led all the way until the 3:46 mark when the Hornets tied the score at 58-58. Adrian followed with a 12-2 run over the next three minutes to put the game out of reach and secure the win.

Adrian shot 41 percent overall while sinking 22-of-33 free throws. Kalamazoo shot 35.5 percent while making 15-of-18 at the line. The Bulldogs held a 46-39 advantage in rebounds, including 18-13 on the offensive end.

Nicole Antoine led Kalamazoo in scoring with 18 points before fouling out. Katherine Johnston scored 14 points with five rebounds while going 6-for-6 at the free throw line.

Hannah Maness scored nine points with nine rebounds in 22 minutes off the bench. Emily Lindsay scored seven while Anne Colonius and India Hoskins each finished with six.

Kalamazoo returns to action with a non-conference game at Aquinas on Tuesday, Dec. 11 at 7 p.m.
