Women's Basketball: Mount St. Joseph 66, Kalamazoo 46

The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team lost 66-46 to Mount St. Joseph College on Thursday.

Kalamazoo trailed by one point (9-8) with 10:46 left in the first half, but the visiting Lions slowly extended their lead to double digits before entering halftime up 11 (32-21).

Kalamazoo made it a 10 point game (39-29) with 16:33 left in the second half, but Mount St. Joseph used a 9-0 run to begin putting the game out of reach.

Mount St. Joseph shot 41.3 percent overall compared to just 23.4 percent for Kalamazoo. The Lions held a 51-44 advantage in rebounds.

Nicole Antoine and Katherine Johnston led Kalamazoo with nine points each. Antoine also grabbed a team-high seven rebounds with two assists and three steals. Johnston had three rebounds with two blocked shots.

Emily Lindsay added seven points with four rebounds and four assists. Katrina Carlsen scored six points with three rebounds and two assists.

Kalamazoo returns to action at home against Mich.-Dearborn on Saturday, Dec. 29 at 1 p.m.
