Women's Basketball drops road game at Albion, 65-43

The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team lost 65-43 at Albion College in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play on Wednesday.

There were 10 lead changes in the first half with the Hornets holding a 14-12 advantage midway through the half. Albion regained the lead on a three-pointer and led the rest of the way, including 30-20 at the break.

Albion shot 36.4 percent overall while hitting 14-of-26 free throws. Kalamazoo was held to 27.3 percent overall while making 16-of-20 free throws. Albion held a 46-38 advantage in rebounds, including 17-7 on the offensive end leading to 14 second chance points.

Anne Colonius and Emily Lindsay led Kalamazoo with 10 points each. Lindsay grabbed a team-high seven rebounds while Colonius pulled down four.

Katherine Johnston and Holly Cooperrider each scored six points while Nicole Antoine added five. Cooperrider also had four assists.

Kalamazoo returns home to face Alma on Saturday, Jan. 19 at 3 p.m.
